How To Change Your Real Name On Xbox App
You will need to change an individual’s name associated with your Change Your RealName on the Xbox App. These are the steps to follow to get it started:
- Start your internet browser on your computer (Chrome. Safari. Firefox. Edge, etc.)
- Enter live.com in the search bar, and hit enter. Or click on the Give Connect Here button.
- Register for the Microsoft account you use to access Xbox.
- Click on “Your information” at the top of the window.
- Click on the “Alter Name” interface under the current record name.
- In the box below First Name, type your initial name.
- Enter your surname in the box below your Last Name.
- In the text box marked “Enter characters that you see“, enter the numbers and letters of the Captcha image.
- Click the blue Save button.
Change Your Xbox Gamertag

Navigate to xbox.com/ChangeGamertag in the address bar or click on our link here.
In the box marked “Enter your new Gamertag“, type the name of the new Gamertag you’d like to use.
Click or tap the green Check Availability button.
If the Gamertag has been used already, the website will display a message in the text box. You can try entering another one and then hit the Check Availability button again.
Once you have found the Gamertag you want, click or tap on the green “Claim It!” button. The box will turn green with a green tick. Click or tap the green “Claim it!” button to choose your Gamertag.
Change Your Xbox Gamertag on Xbox One
If you wish to change your Gamertag using an Xbox One, these are the steps to follow.
- To open the guide, press the Xbox button in the middle of the controller.
- Highlight your Gamerpic in the top left corner of the screen and press the A button.
- Select My profile and click A.
- Click on Customize profile and then press A.
- Click on the Gamertag you are currently using and hit A.
After entering the name of the new Gamertag, you desire, press the A button. If the name you want is already taken, you will see a message that says, “That name isn’t available”. You can then try another Gamertag or add numbers to it.

- Sign in to Xbox 360 account to modify the Gamertag.
- Go to the My Xbox channel.
- Highlight your Gamertag in the top-right corner of the screen, and then press the A button.
- Click Edit Profile, and then press A.
- Click on the Gamertag you want to select and then press A.
- Click on Enter New Gamertag to continue and then press A.

How To Change Xbox Passkey
Xbox passkey is the six-digit number you use to activate your Xbox One account. The Passkey can be used to activate Xbox One, lock features such as parental controls or purchases, or simply use it for security purposes. Microsoft provides more information about the passkey settings.
You will need your passkey to change it. If you have lost it, you can still use your primary Microsoft account login. You will need to delete your current Passkey first. Scroll left from the Xbox One home screen and clicked on Settings, All Settings, Account. Next, select Sign-in security & Passkey. You should then see the option of deleting your Passkey.
